Judging criteria -through the eyes of the judge

LA GRANGE — Join the guild meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at 653 East Pearl St. in La Grange as Brenda Jeschke tells the group what a judge is looking for at the quilt show.

Jeschke is an award-winning quilter, quilt teacher, and quilt show judge. She has been creating quilts for over 32 years and teaching quilting classes for 23 years.

She has been judging quilt shows for over 17 years. Jeschke does programs, lectures, and workshops for quilt guilds around Texas and Louisiana.

She has exhibited her quilts at the Ziegler Museum in Jennings, La. Another one of her quilts was featured in Karen McTavish’s book “Mastering the Art of McTavishing.”

Two of her quilts have been in Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine. Jeschke has written a techniqueworkshop article on binding for Quilters’s Newsletter Magazine.
