Kids learn about fire prevention

On their way back to class on the old fire engine, Columbus Elementary students learned about fire safety in the kitchen. National Fire Safety Week, Oct. 8 through Oct. 14, focused on cooking safety. Many kids across the area visited fire stations and saw firsthand how a firefighter gears up. In Columbus, it was a special treat to go from the school to the fire station by way of the old fire engine.
