SCHULENBURG — Weimar football fought hard to beat Schulenburg High School Oct.
20 at David Husman Memori al Stadium in Schulenburg by a final score of 30-23. Weimar is now 7-2 on the year and the Shorthorns fall to 4-4. Both teams are very much improved and this game could’ve gone either way.
Shorthorns quarterback Aaron Janecek has been a force on the ground all season and had 19 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Crucial performers for Wei- mar were Zach Norrell with 98 rushing yards and two touch- downs on 17 carries. Wildcats quarterback Huxton Kloesel added 55 yards and a rushing touchdown as well. With new head coaches in Wade Griffin for Weimar and Luke Hobbs for Schulenburg, these coaches have proven they can turn programs around, so we potentially have a matchup for the ages brewing with these two teams.
