14 tri-county runners qualify for UIL state cross country

A couple handfuls of athletes from the area have qualified for the UIL State Cross Country Meet, which will be held at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov.

A couple handfuls of athletes from the area have qualified for the UIL State Cross Country Meet, which will be held at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov.

4. Boy runners qualifing from Fayetteville include Emaunel Champs, Colt Cox, Cole Fenhaus, Mason Fenhaus, Lawson Fritsch, Kole Schmitt and Keagan Supak. The lone girl runner from Fayetteville is Sage Gasaway.

Other athletes who qualified are Kayla Foster (Columbus), Chloe Ross (Columbus), Ria Torres (Sealy), Duke Sodek (Flatonia), Gavin Almaguer (Sealy), and Fernando Garza (Sealy).

On Friday, the 1A boys run at 10:40 a.m., then the 3A girls run at 11:40 a.m. on the same day. On Saturday, the only runner from 2A, Duke Sodek will run at 10:40 a.m. This will be followed by the 4A girls at 11:40 a.m. and the 4A boys at 12:10 p.m.
