Glidden man arrested with drugs, guns and cash

GLIDDEN – The Colorado Coun- ty Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Westside Narcotics Task Force on Oct. 20 in reference to an active investigation at a residence in Glidden.

GLIDDEN — The Colorado Coun- ty Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Westside Narcotics Task Force on Oct. 20 in reference to an active investigation at a residence in Glidden.

At about 3:20 p.m., deputies from the Colorado County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home located at the 900 Blk of Brazos Street in Glidden due to the report of a disturbance.

Once on location, deputies observed drug paraphernalia and other indicators that narcotics were being sold from the home. At the request of the sheriff's of - fice, a Task Force Investigator arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation.

A search warrant was later executed at the residence resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, firearms, and United States Currency.

Packaging materials and scales were also located at the residence which is an indicator of the distribution of narcotics.

Defendant Jesse Lee Cloninger was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1, Delivery of Marijuana, and possession of a Prohibited weapon.

Cloninger was transported and booked into the Colorado County Jail. The Columbus Police Department assisted at the scene.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers four counties and is comprised of investigators from the Austin County Sheriff's Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and DEA.

The Colorado County Attorney’s Of- fice assisted with the investigation.
