Susan Chandler received resolution

COLUMBUS – Colorado County Commissioner's Court met for their regular meeting on Oct 23. Judge Ty Prause read a resolution of recognition and appreciation to Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library for her diligence in coding the information to document the establishment of Colorado County. The resolution read in part: Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library shall be recognized for her diligence in locating the information to document the establishment date of Colorado County.

COLUMBUS — Colorado County Commissioner's Court met for their regular meeting on Oct 23. Judge Ty Prause read a resolution of recognition and appreciation to Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library for her diligence in coding the information to document the establishment of Colorado County. The resolution read in part: Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library shall be recognized for her diligence in locating the information to document the establishment date of Colorado County.

Chandler was able to show the documented date of the establishment of Colorado County as January 11, 1836, per the 'Ordinances and Decrees' from the Laws of Texas 1822-1897, Volume 1. It showed an ordinance creating a new municipality to be called Colorado, and for organizing the same was passed at San Felipe de Austin on January 8, 1836, and signed on January 11, 1836.

The Commissioners Court of Colorado County, Texas, recognizes the service of Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library for her diligence in assisting with locating the information to document the establishment date of Colorado County and extends its appreciation for her timely effort and assistance. The Commissioners Court of Colorado County does hereby resolve that this Resolution shall be a part of the record of this Commissioners Court and spread upon the Minutes of this Court forever hereafter on this the 23rd day of October 2023.
