Holiday Hold’em online Holiday Wellness Program to begin in November

Would you like to maintain or even lose weight this holiday sea- son? A Multi-County Commu - nity Wellness program, Holiday Hold'em, will begin soon, states Sally Garrett, County Extension Agent - Family & Community Health.

This free online challenge is designed to encourage participants to gain no more than two pounds during the holiday season. Austin, Colorado, and Fayette Counties will offer this program starting Monday, Nov. 20, and continuing through Jan. 1, 2024.

On average, individuals gain between eight and 10 pounds during the holiday season. Holi - day Hold'em is a six-week chal lenge to gain no more than two pounds during the holiday sea- son. Starting Nov. 20, you will weigh in weekly at home, your fitness center, or your preferred site. Taking part in this program

for a healthier you will take less than five minutes each week. Make it a holiday challenge and involve your office, friends, and/ or family. You will receive a Challenge Log to keep track of your prog ress and each week, a newsletter will challenge you to improve your overall health.

Anyone interested in participating in this online, free challenge can register at https:// fayette.agrilife.org/https-fch-ta - mu-edu/. Be sure to register by Nov. 17 to prepare for the Nov. 20 kick - off. You'll be enrolled and be gin receiving e-communications starting the week of Nov. 20. If you don't have an email ac - count, you can still enroll by call - ing the Fayette County office at 979-968-5831 to sign up to have the information mailed to you.
