Burn Ban lifted in Fayette County

After receiving abundant rain fall over the past several days, Fayette County Judge Dan Muel - ler lifted the burn ban Oct. 31.

After receiving abundant rain fall over the past several days, Fayette County Judge Dan Muel - ler lifted the burn ban Oct. 31.

Everyone is asked to exercise extreme care and caution when burning and you must plan the activity so that you are always present until the fire is complete - ly out. Please contact the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at 979-968-5856 or 743-HELP (743-4357) and advise them of your intent to burn.

Judge Mueller pleads with all citizens to please use common sense when burning and to be ad - vised of the following: Y Start burns early in the

morning and make sure they are extinguished before sunset (this a TCEQ rule); Y If burning trash, please have a water hose nearby; Y Do not burn in windy conditions; Y Have a safe zone around the burn; Y Do not leave burns un - attended; Y If a burn gets out of control, call 911 immediately.
