COLUMBUS — Columbus Garden Club will be having a flower show Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Nesbitt Library at Washington Street and Bowie Street in Columbus. The show will be open and free to the public between noon and 3 p.m. Come by and see just how creative and talented these garden club ladies are as they show entries in Horticulture and entries in Design. The theme of this year’s show is Let’s Celebrate.
The entries will be judged by National Garden Club (NGC) certified judges. Columbus Garden Club’s chairman of the show, Helen Huddleston recently moved to the Columbus area and is a certified NGC judge. She has been an active member of the NGC since 2005. Deborah Braden is the co-chairman. Regena Williamson will be helping with the horticulture section. There will be annuals, cut plants and pot plants shown in the Horticulture division.
In the Design division, there will be four entries in each class. Class 1 is “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart”, Class 2 is “A Garden Wedding – I Do” and Class 3 is “Star Spangled Celebration.” There will also be a Botanical Arts section, “Small But Mighty” - Class 1 is “Enter the World of …” Fairy Gardens in Tea Cups and Class 2: “Enter the World of …” Fairy Garden in a Saucer.
Come by the Nesbitt Library on Nov. 8 to see the show and visit with some of the garden club ladies.
