Fayette County Narcotics K-9 Unit Seizes 23 Kilos of Cocaine

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Oc.t. 31, the Fayette Coun- ty Sheriff's Office Narcotics Ca nine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Kolt, stopped an 18-wheeler pulling a flatbed trail er 10 at the 658 mile marker at approximately 12:45 p.m. for a traffic violation.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Oc.t. 31, the Fayette Coun- ty Sheriff's Office Narcotics Ca nine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Kolt, stopped an 18-wheeler pulling a flatbed trail er 10 at the 658 mile marker at approximately 12:45 p.m. for a traffic violation.

After speaking to the driver, Sgt. Thumann observed many indicators the vehicle was being utilized to smuggle narcotics from Mexico into the U.S.

Sgt. Thumann was given consent to search the vehicle and discovered the trailer axles had been altered to conceal contraband.

Sgt. Thumann removed approximately 23 kilos of cocaine with a street value of $2.3 million from the trailer’s axles.

The driver, Carlos Enrique Ruiz Rebullosa of Monterrey, Mexico, was arrested for Felony drug possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.
