PRAHA — The 61st Anniversary All Veterans Day event was held on Nov. 5 at the Praha Cemetery in Praha. It honored all veterans of all eras and commemorated 78 years of the end of WWII.

After a patriotic rosary by the Catholic Daughters of America and a mass offered to all veterans, everyone assembled at the Praha cemetery for a memorial service to honor all veterans.

Veterans from all branches were honored as patriotic songs and mili- tary theme songs were played to reflect the branch being honored. The somber crowd paid tribute to those there and those who gave it all for their country. Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller was the guest speaker at the event sponsored by the Praha Veterans Club and the Vietnam Veterans of Chapter 870.

The Commemorative Air Force per- formed a special flyover with WWII-era planes and a 21-gun salute. A meal followed the end of the service.

Veterans Day will officially be cele brated on Nov. 11 of this year.
