FUGITIVE ROMERO ROBINSON

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Wanted fugitive Romero Robinson, 33, was booked into the Austin County Jail on the charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Bail Jumping / Fail to Appear.

The arrest took place on Nov. 3 in California. Robinson was listed as an active fugitive when he fled Austin County in 2017 in an attempt to evade law enforcement on the charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. An Austin County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) Deputy, currently assigned to the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force was assigned the job of tracking down Robinson.

The Austin County Deputy, working jointly with the US Marshals Task Force in California, was able to locate and arrest Robinson in Long Beach, Califor- nia. The US Marshals Office processed and transported Robinson from California to a federal correction facility in Texas, where our ACSO Deputy took possession of Robinson and returned him to the Austin County Jail.

The Austin County Sheriff's Office is proud to be a member of the US Marshal Gulf Coast Violent Offender and Fugitive Task Force and greatly appreciates the work they do. The Austin County District Attorney's Office also took part in the operation to arrest Robinson.
