LA GRANGE —This month the Opry is proud to host a gospel show with D’Vine Testament & The Spirit Riders.

D’Vine Testament is a Christian music group that has been performing together for 12 1/2 years. All of the members, including Byron Wren, Dennis Stryk, David Machac, Bruce Lebeda and Joe Dybala, have been involved in music for decades, singing and playing in many different bands.

Music ranges from polkas and waltzes to country and rock. Although none of the members had ever played together, the group came to be through Divine Intervention and a lot of wonderful people in the communities who were demanding that they sing a lot more than an occasional Sunday in church.

So, the “D’vine Testament” was formed, and since, have recorded four CDs. In addition, the group, as well as individually, has performed for many weddings, funerals, country oprys, festivals, memorial services, and numerous concerts for churches of all denominations. For the past two-plus years, the group, known as “Wren’s And Friends,” has been playing classic country music for fundraisers, festivals, private parties, and dance halls. Members of this group are Byron Wren from Smithville, Dennis Stryk, David Machac and Bruce Lebeda, from Schulenburg, and Joe Dybala from Fayetteville.

Spirit Riders, consisting of Ken Brothers, Wayne Beseda, Mary Lou Anderle and Chris Janca, is the name of the group for the show.

All four have been members of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Choir for many years. Each of them are very active in church and civic activities. All share a desire to praise our 'Lord' with song.
