COLUMBUS — The Wellness Council of Greater Colorado Valley met on Nov. 9 at the Colorado County Courthouse in Columbus where the theme was 'Gratitude.' Mazie Leftwich, president of the Wellness Council, began the meeting with gratitude toward those who have played a part in the formation of the Wellness Council. Colorado County Judge Ty Prause as well asMental Health Deputy Andrew Lopez, were recognized as vital to the progress toward the mental health and wellness of Colorado County.
Also, Shannon and Tish Clickenbeard were acknowledged for their 'You Matter' Beard and Moustache Contest that was cre- ated and benefits the Wellness Council. This contest raised thousands of dollars last year all going to help fund the salary of the Mental-Health Deputy. The next 'YOU MATTER, Beard and Moustache Contest' will take place on Jan. 20, 2024, at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Other presenters brought updates and informative information to the large crowd in attendance. The next meeting of the Wellness Council will be Jan. 11, 2024, at noon in the courthouse.
