Two Colorado County residents arrested for controlled substance

Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team (SRT) along with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Region 2 SRT nn Nov. 14, at approx. 5 a.m. executed arrest and search warrants at two separate residences in Colorado County.

Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team (SRT) along with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Region 2 SRT nn Nov. 14, at approx. 5 a.m. executed arrest and search warrants at two separate residences in Colorado County.

The residences were in the 1000 block of County Road 255 and the 5000 block of 4th Street in Sheridan.

These warrants were the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation led by the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA).

The task force was investigating complaints of methamphetamine being sold from both residences.

Defendants Rafael Herrera, 44, and Robert Sloan, 43, were arrested and charged with Manufacture and/or Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Both defendants were transported and booked into the Colorado County Jail in Columbus.

The Colorado County Sher- iff's Office and Colorado County Attorney's Office participated in the investigation.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers four counties and is comprised of investigators from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville Police Depart ment, Sealy Police Department, Hempstead Police Department, Waller County Sheriff's Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and DEA.
