THE WOODLANDS — Faith Academy ran at the Nike Cross South Regional Meet on Nov. 18 in The Woodlands.
There are nine Nike Cross Regional Meets scattered over the United States. Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma and Mississippi represent the South region.
The featured race is the Boys and Girls Elite race.
The top two teams that finish
as well as the top five individuals qualify for Nationals in Portland, Ore.
This was the largest meet to date with 2,376 runners in atten dance.
The other divisions are the Boys and Girls Rising Stars which are freshman and sophomores and the Boys and Girls Varsity Open.
The Varsity Boys Open had five races and the Girls Open had three races.
The Rising Star's had two girls and two boys races. The races are combined for the overall results.
Faith Academy sophomore Ethan Stegent ran in the Boys Rising Stars. In his race he was in the top 10 throughout the race and came across the finish line with a time of 16:56 placing eighth, overall finishing 22nd against 409 runners.
FA freshman Johnathan Tarver ran a 21:15 and finished 362nd.
This completed the Knights Cross Country season.
Stegent ran a PR 16:48 this season and holds the school record.
