HANDBELL CHOIR TO PERFORM

LEDBETTER - The Glory Tones Handbell Choir of New Life Methodist Church in La Grange, invites the public to enjoy their beautiful Christmas music presented at the Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights on Friday, Dec. 1, beginning at 6 p.m. in Ledbetter. Directed by Nancy Hajek, the choir enjoys bringing some Christmas cheer and being part of the live music line-up of entertainment for such a wonderful event.

COLUMBUS - The Columbus Elementary PTO will have Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Columbus Hall located at 3845 I-10 Frontage Rd. in Columbus. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

CHRISTMAS AT WINEDALE SLATED

ROUND TOP - Christmas at Winedale will be held Saturday, Dec. 9 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be crafts and folklife demon - strations, music and theater performances, food and beverages, and more. WVFD TO HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY

WINCHESTER - Mark your calendars for the Winchester Area Volunteer Fire Department Community Christmas Party to be held Tuesday, Dec. 12. A social will begin at 6 p.m., followed by chili and chicken noodle soup made by the Franke and Kleiber families. Des - serts would be greatly appreciated. Canned food will be collected for the AMEN Food Pantry. There is a need for new firemen for the department. Please attend and check out how to become a volunteer. Fire trucks will be at the party for the community to see and explore. Bring the kids and learn about the fire department.

CARMINE CHRISTMAS FEST PLANNED

CARMINE - The Polar Express Carmine Christmas Fest, spon - sored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce, will be held Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Carmine Hall in Carmine. Over 20 vendors will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Christmas shopping. Stew and grilled hamburgers will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for either dinein or to-go. Tickets are $15 at the door. Ride the Polar Express and visit with Santa from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a musical program at 1:30 p.m., which will be presented by RT-C Elementary School students. CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA IN THE PARK

INDUSTRY - Christmas Extravaganza in the Park will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 at Industry City Park in Industry. Santa will arrive at 5:30 p.m. for pictures. The event will also include punch, cookies and fun.

ROTARY CLUB SEEKS HEATERS/BLANKETS

WEIMAR - The Weimar Rotary Club is seeking donations for their "Share the Warmth" campaign to help keep the residents of Weimar keep warm this winter. If you would like to donate, you can drop off new portable heaters and/or new blankets (both must be in original packaging) at Fayette Savings Bank, and Hill Bank and Trust Co. in Weimar. Monetary donations are accepted at Fayette Savings Bank in Weimar. Items will be distributed at the monthly Weimar FFA We C.A.N. Food Bank.

FANTASY OF LIGHTS PARADE SLATED

SENIORS TOGETHER OPENS IN WEIMAR

Seniors Together, formerly the Colorado County Senior Connections, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran's Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo

with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering.

SCHULENBURG LIGHTED PARADE SET

SCHULENBURG - The Greater Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is will host a Lighted Christmas Parade and Party with Santa in the Park on Saturday, Dec. 2. The parade begins at 5:45 p.m. in downtown Schulenburg. Santa will be in the Gazebo at the Railroad Park following the parade.

FAYETTEVILLE/ELLINGER FUNDRAISER MEAL

LA GRANGE - The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Co - lumbus Council No. 3168 will host a pork steak dinner drive-thru fundraiser on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the La Grange Knights of Columbus Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The meal will include a pork steak, noodles and mixed vegetables for $15 per plate. Meals will also be available for pick-up at St. John's Hall in Fayetteville. WALDECK FOOD TRUCK CHANGES

WALDECK - The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has de - cided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up meth - od. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The last date for 2023 is Dec. 16.

LIBRARY TO HOST AUTHOR BETSY WAGNER

WEIMAR - Friends of the Weimar Public Library will host author, Betsy Wagner, Friday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. at the Weimar United Church fellowship hall at 403 W. Main, Weimar. Wagner, of Columbus, will present "Islands of Truth Joined by Bridges of Logic." She is best known for her realistic portrayals of Texas history through well-drawn characters and historically accurate details.
