LA GRANGE — The Second Chance Emporium located at 841 S. Reynolds in La Grange, is more than another resale shop. It donates back to the community in a mighty way each year.

Second Chance opened its doors in 1996 and is in its 25th year of providing monies to service organizations throughout Fayette County.

The resale shop is overseen by Crosspoint Community Church, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. James Episcopal Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church and Shared Lutheran Ministries. Volunteers from each church work in the resale shop.

Items donated to Second Chance are resold at very low prices so underprivileged members can afford them. Anyone can purchase goods from there, knowing what they spend at Second Chance goes back into the community.

Since 1996, Second Chance has given out $3.1 million to various service organizations and shows no slowing down this year.

Anyone wishing to donate, go to www.secondchanceemporium. org for drop-off hours.
