SPRING — The Bellville High School football team blasted Sils- bee High School by a final score of 61-7 Nov. 24 at Planet Ford Sta dium in Spring. Bellville did their usual running of the football, wearing down Silsbee and scoring heavily while locking them down on defense.

“Our kids just played extremely hard,” said Bellville head football coach Grady Rowe.

“We’ve come out focused, really locked in, ready to go in just all phases. Our kids have been really locked in, focused, and ready to go probably more than any other team I’ve ever seen. Just ready to go. They love being around each other and playing together, so that’s made this bunch really, really fun.”

Brahmas senior running back Sam Hranicky carried the ball 12 times for 118 yards to go along with two touchdowns and has been a huge part of Bellville’s running game all season. “Just want to thank my o line,” Hranicky said. “They do a really good job knowing their rules and coming off low and hard. The score speaks for itself. It’s a testament to the work those guys put in during the offseason and during the season. That’s our goal, keep getting better and go to state.”

Bellville scored three touch- downs in the first quarter and added a safety at the 1:03 mark

after stopping Silsbee at their

own goal line to take a 23-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Then Hranicky ran in two scores

for 10 yards and 53 yards before Jacob Shepherd caught a five-yard

touchdown pass and junior running back DD Murray ran one for 49 yards at the 3:57 mark in the second quarter to take a 44-0 lead at halftime.

Brahmas kicker Fernando Grajales tacked on the first points of the third quarter with a 28 yard field goal to make it 47-0, which led to senior Connor Gaines making a pick six from about midfield with 4:26 to play for a 54-0 advantage at the end of the third quarter. Bellville junior run ning back Corrian Hood put up a 31 yard touchdown at the very beginning of the fourth quarter and Silsbee responded with their only points of the night about midway through the fourth quar - ter on a five yard run to cap off a 61-7 scoreboard and victory for Bellville. The Brahmas face off against Jasper High School in the next round of the playoffs Dec. 1 at Woodforest Stadium in Conroe at 7:30 p.m.
