LA GRANGE - The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) is now accepting applications for their 2022-2023 scholarship funds.

Applications can be found on the FCF website or through any of the Fayette County high school counselors. FCF has a total of six scholarships available in 2023, five offered to graduating high school seniors and one limited to single mothers already enrolled in nursing school.

Fayette Community Foundation has two internal scholarships available to any student within an 80-mile radius of La Grange, the FCF General Scholarship and the FCF Technical Education Scholarship. Both offer a minimum of $1,000 and take community service, volunteer activities, financial need, a sound academic record, and the character of the applicant highly into account. Priority for both will be given to those not in the top ten percent, however, no applicant is excluded.

Homeschooled students are encouraged to apply to these scholarship opportunities as well.

Please reach out directly to the FCF by contacting Ashleigh Parks at info@faycofoundation. com for more information.

FCF proudly serves local donors by assisting in the administration of affiliated scholarship funds.

Currently, two affiliated scholarships administered by FCF are restricted to students at La Grange High School: the FCF M.L. Scholarship for students attending an accredited university or college and the Sampuesana 7 Scholarship, available for use at any university, college or trade school.

The FCF M.L. Scholarship provides funding through completion of an undergraduate degree program with up to $10,000 annual funding disbursed among semesters and the Sampuesana 7 Scholarship offers a minimum of one $500 scholarship.

Additionally, two affiliated scholarships available are restricted to graduating seniors at Flatonia High School, the Suzy Romberg Scholarship and the Joe & Carolyn Bailey Scholarship. Both scholarships are offered to first or second generation Hispanic students and are available for those attending a university, college or trade school.

The Suzy Romberg Scholarship offers one $2,500 scholarship and the Joe & Carolyn Bailey Scholarship offers four $2,500 scholarships.

Finally, the Janet High Foundation Scholarship is an affiliated scholarship available to single mothers currently enrolled in nursing school. Those interested are encouraged to apply by April 1, through the Janet High Foundation website at http://www.janethigh.org/scholarships/.
