GARWOOD — Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team (SRT) executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant in Colorado County on Dec. 7.
These warrants were the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation led by the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA).
The task force was investigating complaints of illegal narcotics being sold from several locations in Colorado County.
Defendant Bruce Montgomery, 59, was arrested and charged with Manufacture and/ or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
A search of a residence located in the 10000 block of Highway 71 in Garwood, resulted in the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, and United States currency.
The defendant was transported and booked into the Colorado County Jail in Columbus.
The Colorado County Sheriff's Office, Waller County Sheriff's Office K9 Division and the Colorado County Attorney's Office participated in the operation.
The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers four counties and is comprised of investigators from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff's Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and DEA.
