Columbus Garden Club has a holly jolly Christmas party

COLUMBUS - There were wonderful gifts in the Mistletoe Sack Drawing, luxurious items in the Silent Auction, and the grand prize Scholarship Quilt Drawing brought many holiday party go - ers to the Columbus Garden Club Christmas Tasting Luncheon last week. And, Santa Claus made a surprise visit much to the enjoy - ment of both the young and old - (er).

COLUMBUS - There were wonderful gifts in the Mistletoe Sack Drawing, luxurious items in the Silent Auction, and the grand prize Scholarship Quilt Drawing brought many holiday party go - ers to the Columbus Garden Club Christmas Tasting Luncheon last week. And, Santa Claus made a surprise visit much to the enjoy - ment of both the young and old - (er).

T he Scholarship Quilt was sewn by Sharon Heimann and was won by Regena Williamson. Funds collected from the items in the Silent Auction went to differ - ent charitable organizations that are supported by the garden club and to the funds of the Columbus Garden Club. Partygoers enjoyed wonderful food and so much fun visiting with each other and with Santa.

The garden club works hard all year maintaining garden areas around town and encouraging members of the club and the community to learn and enjoy more about gardening. The new year continues with educational speakers at their monthly meetings, encouraging "A More Beautiful Communi -

ty", and supporting the youth in the community with the annual

scholarships.
