COLUMBUS — When word got out that a young veteran was worried about Christmas for his kids, several groups mobilized to bring joy, even for a little while.
Word got out only a few months in advance. It happened with a flash right before Christmas, and the Christian Motorcyclist Association, the Southern Justice Motorcycle Group, and the Glidden Baptist Church, with a twinkle in their eyes, lined up and headed to the Charles Stephenson residence in the Columbus area.
A private man, Stephenson, served his country in Afghanistan and is in need of VA services. He and his family sought to have his young children blessed this Christmas as he navigated through bureaucratic mazes.
God always puts people in our paths that are lifelines when, at times, you feel you are drowning. That lifeline was the Good Samaritan’s wanting to bless and be blessed by helping others in a time of need.
The Stephenson family will surely pay it forward when it is their time.
