ROTARY CLUB SEEKS HEATERS/BLANKETSWEIMAR - The Weimar Rotary Club is seeking donations for their "Share the Warmth" campaign to help keep the residents of Weimar keep warm this winter. If you would like to donate, you can drop off new portable heaters and/or new blankets (both must be in original packaging) at Fayette Savings Bank, and Hill Bank and Trust Co. in Weimar. Monetary donations are accepted at Fayette Savings Bank in Weimar. Items will be distributed at the monthly Weimar FFA We C.A.N. Food Bank.

The annual homemade chicken noodle soup and bake sale will be held Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, Hostyn, from 9 to 11 a.m. and at the Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Plum, from 11 to 11:30 a.m. This event is sponsored by KJZT No. 23 to benefit C.R.E.W., the youth service group of the parishes. Reserve your soup by calling the parish office at 979-247-4441, Ext 2. Soup is $7.50 per quart.

CHS FACULTY RECITAL SCHEDULED

COLUMBUS - The Columbus High School faculty recital will be held Thursday, Feb 1 at 6 p.m. at the CHS Auditorium in Columbus. The recital will feature Anthony Allen on percussion, Alexan - der Busby on woodwinds and pianist Tim Smale. Students and the public are encouraged to come and experience the varied repertoire on varying instruments.

WEIMAR FARMERS MARKET

WEIMAR - The Weimar Farmers Market, located in the green buildng at 201 W. Main, showcases local farmers every second Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. There is no fee to participate but vendors must register in advance by emailing info@weimarchamber. com.

COLUMBUS LUNCH & LEARN SET

COLUMBUS - Pam Schertz, Pam Schertz CPA LLC will be the guest speaker at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Lunch & Learn Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Stafford Opera House at 425 Spring St. in Columbus. Schertz will be talking about taxes. Bring your own lunch or with a reservation the chamber will provide lunch for $10, water provided. SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fel - lowship Hall at 201 Veteran's Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizs, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.

EL SENIOR CITIZEN DANCE SCHEDULE

EAGLE LAKE - The schedule for the Eagle Lake Senior Citizen Dance held the first Friday of each month from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center at 100 W. Wal - nut in Eagle Lake is: Feb. 2-Al Sulak & The Country Sounds; March 1-No Dance; April 5-This Is It; May 3-Larry Waddell & The Southern Stars; June 7-Al Sulak & The Country Sounds.

COLUMBUS SEWER AVERAGING

COLUMBUS TO HOLD SHRED-IT EVENT

COLUMBUS - Shred-it event is coming to Columbus Wednesday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon, courtesy of the Colum - bus Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Trash-Off Day sponsored by the Columbus Garden Club. Items accepted include hard drives, media, x-rays, medical records, credit cards, paper files and tax returns. No cardboard will be accepted. There will be no set fee but free-will donations will be gladly accepted to offset the cost.

CDA/KCPLANSTURKEYANDDRESSINGDINNER

MENTZ - The annual CDA and KC turkey and dressing dinner is planned for Sunday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Roch Parish Hall at 1600 Frelsburg Rd. in Mentz. The drive-thru only meal is $15 per plate and includes cookies. There will be a drawing for prizes.

KC TO SELL CHICKEN & SAUSAGE

FRELSBURG - The Frelsburg Knights of Columbus Council will be selling chicken and sausage barbecue to go Sunday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Sts. Peter & Paul Diamond Center in Frelsburg.
