BELLVILLE — The Austin County Republican Party will be hosting two candidate forums for the upcoming primary election. There are four contested races in the county this cycle with House District 85, County Clerk, Commissioner Pct 1 and Constable Pct 3.

The first forum will be to night (Thursday, Jan. 18) from 7 to 8 p.m. at the San Bernard Electric Cooperative Meeting Room at 309 W. Main St. in Bellville.

The second forum will be held Thursday, Feb. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the meeting room at Tony’s Restaurant in Sealy.

In an effort to best utilize the time, each set of candidates will be asked a series of questions hopefully designed to provide attendees with a better understanding of their goals and priorities.

The candidates will not be informed of the questions beforehand. Because of time constraints, there will not be any questions taken from the audience during the forum.

Austin County Republican Party Chairman Charles Beers, Chairman said questions are being collected to ask the candidates.

“I have asked several people in the community for suggestions for questions and have asked each candidate to provide me with a set of questions for their opponent, ” added Beers.

If you have a question you would like addressed, please send to Charles Beers at austincountygop@ gmail.com and it will be incorporated in the list of questions.
