WEIMAR – To keep the citizens informed and engaged, the Weimar Police Department has released details of their recent activities, highlighting the dedi-cated work of officers serving the community.

WEIMAR — To keep the citizens informed and engaged, the Weimar Police Department has released details of their recent activities, highlighting the dedi-cated work of officers serving the community.

During December 2023 the department responded to a total of 172 calls for service, showcasing their commitment to addressing community concerns promptly. Among these incidents were various situations that required the officers' immediate attention and expertise.

The calls for service encompassed a range of incidents, including three motor vehicle accidents. Officers swiftly intervened to manage these situations, ensuring the safety of those involved and maintaining traffic flow in the affected areas. Moreover, the department handled five alarm calls, promptly investigating each report to ensure the security and well-being of the community.

In addition to these incidents, officers addressed five domestic disturbances, handling each case with sensitivity and professionalism to ensure the safety and welfare of all individuals involved.

Furthermore, the department received two thefts, one vehicle burglary, and one credit card abuse case, launching investigations into these incidents to bring justice and provide peace of mind to affected residents.

In a notable turn of events, officers successfully handled a terrorist threat situation and a drug offense. In these cases, the department's swift and decisive action demonstrates its commitment to maintaining public safety and addressing serious crimes within the community.

Weimar Chief of Police J Mark Jameson commended the officers for their dedication and unwavering commitment to serving the citizens of Weimar.
