COLUMBUS — Colorado County Commissioners Court met for the first regular meeting of the year on Jan 8.
The agenda was a bit longer than usual, but the meeting was less than an hour.
The most noteworthy item was a Resolution of Respect for Herbert E. Helmcamp, Jr which read in part: Almighty God, in His wisdom, called our friend and associate Herbert “Herbie” Helmcamp, Jr. to his eternal home on November 21, 2023. Mr. Helmcamp faithfully served the Citizens of Colorado County as County Commissioner of Precinct No. 2 from Jan 1, 1999, to Dec. 31, 2010, with effectiveness and devotion, with honor to himself and his office.
Therefore be it resolved that the Commissioners Court of Colorado County, Texas, adopt this Resolution of our respect and esteem for Mr. Helmcamp as a testimonial to his honorable and effective service to the Citizens of Colorado County. Further, we extend to his family, our deepest expressions of sincere sympathy. This Resolution was spread upon and recorded by the official min utes of the Commissioners Court of Colorado County, Texas.
The above resolution was unanimously adopted by the Commissioners Court of Colorado County, Texas, meeting in Regular Session on the 8th day of January 2024.
