Columbus competed in the UIL 4A and under Region 4 District 14 swim meet Jan. 19 at Northside Independent School District in San Antonio. Team members include, from left, Alex Rester, Shane Kulhanek, Breckin Kinikin, Cade Neumann, Isabelle Rodriguez, Elijah Owen, Will Chavez and Jase Rau. The boys 200m medley relay consisting of Kulhanek, Rester, Rau and Neumann advanced to regionals placing second with a time of 2 minutes and 27.78 seconds. The boys 200m freestyle relay also advanced to regionals placing fourth with a time of 2:27.78, the team consisted of Owen, Rau, Kulhanek and Neumann. Neumann also advanced individually in the boys 50m placing second with a time of 24.39 seconds. oOther times were Rodriguez 50m Freestyle 16th place 44.61, Rau 50m Freestyle ninth place 28.73, and Owen 50m Freestyle 12th 30.00. The team placed fourth at the meet.
