FLATONIA — Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that on Jan. 26 the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Flatonia area for a traffic infraction.
Narcotics investigators observed numerous criminal indicators and requested Sgt. Randy Thumann make location and allow his K9 Kolt to check the vehicle for narcotics. The K9 alerted on the vehicle and a probable cause search was initiated.
Narcotics investigators subsequently located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Esmeralda Valderas, 38, of Moulton, was arrested on felony narcotics charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
