LA GRANGE — The Texas Antique Gas Engine Reunion and Texas Black- smithing Conference fired up its engines and forges on Jan. 27 at the La Grange Fairgrounds in La Grange.
The heavy rain kept the festivities away from the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center and moved it up to the fairgrounds. The wind was brisk but that couldn’t keep the die-hards from learning about old engines and blacksmithing. There were plenty of items for sale relating to the events, and families came and went regardless of the weather.
They experienced antique stationary gas, steam, hot air and oil engines where the pop-pop could be heard and watched blacksmithing demos throughout the day.
The Texas Antique Gas Engine Reunion and Texas Blacksmithing Conference is an annual event.
