LA GRANGE - After fits and starts since 2022, La Grange settled down and hired Jack Thompson as city manager. Thompson came from Crowley, Texas, as an assistant city manager. Thompson will take over the reins on Feb. 26 and hopefully end a chapter of Guess Who’s City Manager.
However, the city chiseled away at four candidates in September of 2023, and it came down to Thompson winning the spot. After several weeks of contract negotiations, Thompson secured a salary of $185,000 yearly, which was at the top end of the salary range.
Thompson is excited about assuming the role. He said, “I am very honored to assume the role of City Manager for the City of La Grange. This is a vibrant community with a lot to offer and I am eager to collaborate with the City Council in shaping its future. I am very encouraged to work alongside city employees who are passionate about La Grange. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to begin my journey in contributing to the growth and success of this wonderful city!”
