Columbus ISD senior Alley Fitzgerald was awarded a $500 scholarship by American Legion Post 383 for her speech on the Constitution.
Fitzgerald won another $500 scholarship at the District 16 competition last December. District 16 is comprised of 20 American Legion posts.
In January, Fitzgerald competed in Brenham at the American Legion 3rd Division contest.
The 3rd Division is comprised of 10 Districts, and Fitzgerald placed third in the contest.
Congratulations were extended Fitzgerald for her accomplishments in the 91st American Legion High School Oratorical Contest.
