Schulenburg Council 2902 hosted the District 190 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at St. Rose Gym on Saturday, Feb. 3 for youngsters who advanced from local competitions held by councils in Schulenburg, Weimar, and Columbus. Winners were, front row, from left, (9-year-old division) Brynlee Mueller of Weimar, Brigham Osburn of Weimar; (10-year-old division) Hannah Bartos of Weimar, Hayes Kloesel of Weimar; (11-year-old division) Andie Melnar of Weimar, and Tate Bass of Weimar; and, back row, (12-year-old division) Carsyn Griffin of Weimar, Cal Schiffli of Schulenburg; (13-year-old division) Miranda Bonner of Schulenburg, Denver Carr of Schulenburg; and (14-year-old division) Tate Griffin of Weimar, Adam Schramek of Schulenburg. The winners will now compete in the Diocese of Victoria competition scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Gym in Hallettsville.
