FRELSBURG KC PLANS FISH FRYS

FRELSBURG - The Frelsburg Knights of Columbus Council No. 5157 will sponsor its Friday Night Fish Frys, Feb. 16, 23, March 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Diamond Center in Frelsburg. The catfish meals, dine in or plates to go, are $15 per plate and fish by the pound $15 per pound. Homemade desserts will be available by St. Anne's Altar Society. Raffle tickets will be available.

CARMINE HALL TO HOLD FUNDRAISER

CARMINE - The Carmine Hall is sponsoring a fried chicken fundraiser Sunday, Feb. 18 with carry out only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at $15 per plate. Desserts will be available for a donation supporting the scholarship fund. For tickets or more information, call 214-7321014. They may also be purchased at Carmine State Bank.

CHAMPS FISH FRY PLANNED

SEALY - The Charitable Heroes Achieving Memorable Performances (C.H.A.M.P.) Friday Fish Fry, drive-thru only, will be held Friday, Feb. 16 at Sealy American Legion Hall in Sealy. Plates are $12 each and will be served from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

LEARN ABOUT HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN

COLUMBUS - Colorado County, City of Columbus and the City of Eagle Lake are hosting an open house to inform the public about the hazard mitigation plan. The public meeting will be held Thursday, March 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coloado County EMS training room at 305 Radio Ln. in Columbus.

SEALY KC FISH FRY RETURNS

SEALY - The Sealy Knights of Columbus announce the return of their annual Famous Lenten Fish Fry, starting Friday, Feb. 16 up to March 29 at the Sealy Columbus Club Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West in Sealy, and will continue every Friday during Lent. Serving drive-thru only, starting at 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., for only $13 a plate. Cash or most major credit cards accepted. Menu will include fried fish, French fries, pinto beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. Proceeds will benefit Sealy KC programs.

SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran's Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizs, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering.

EL SENIOR CITIZEN DANCE SCHEDULE

EAGLE LAKE - The schedule for the Eagle Lake Senior Citizen Dance held the first Friday of each month from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center at 100 W. Walnut in Eagle Lake is: March 1-No Dance; April 5-This Is It; May 3-Larry Waddell & The Southern Stars; June 7-Al Sulak & The Country Sounds.

TEXAS WOMEN'S LEAGUE SPRING GALA

LA GRANGE - Join the Texas Women's League Saturday, March 2 from 6 to 11:59 p.m. for the Spring Gala at the Fayette County Fairgrounds Fair Pavilion in La Grange. This annual event raises funds to benefit charities serving Fayette County with a fun silent and live auction. This year's meal will be catered by Celebrations Catering and hosted by local auctioneer Lee Fritsch. Sponsorships, underwriting and individual tickets available at www.texaswomensleague.org.

YOUTH TO HOLD PORK STEAK FUNDRAISER

WARDA - The Holy Cross Youth Group annual pork steak fundraiser will be held Sunday, March 10 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., drive-thru only, at the Holy Cross picnic grounds in Warda. Plates are $15 each and include pork steak, green beans, noodles and corn. This meal is presale only by Thursday, Feb. 29. Tickets may be purchased at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, La Grange Chevron or from any Holy Cross youth group member. There will also be a bake sale with homemade items for a free-will donation.

COLUMBUS TO HOLD SHRED-IT EVENT

COLUMBUS - Shred-it event is coming to Columbus Wednesday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon, courtesy of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Trash-Off Day sponsored by the Columbus Garden Club. Items accepted include hard drives, media, x-rays, medical records, credit cards, paper files and tax returns. No cardboard will be accepted. There will be no set fee but free-will donations will be gladly accepted to offset the cost.
