COLUMBUS - During the public comments time of the Feb. 12 Colorado County Com - missioner's Court, the Seniors Together Executive Director and Three Crosses Ministries Pres - ident John Jones updated the court on the Seniors Together groups meeting in Columbus and Weimar.

Seniors Together provides a safe place for seniors to social- ize. It is well known that seniors not having places to meet others may exhibit depression and isola - tion, which takes a toll on their well-being.

Jones noted that the Colum - bus group averages about 60

participants and Weimar aver - ages about 50 participants while meeting twice a month each. He al so said that the group enjoys the social gathering while they play cards, dominoes and Bingo. Lunch is provided and is usually a hot meal made by the volun teers. All this is free to attending seniors aged 55 and over.

Jones said all this is possible because of generous donations and sponsors. Anyone wishing to donate to Seniors Together may email threecrossesminis - [email protected] or call 979-733-6610. Three Crosses Ministries is a 501(c)3 with Se niors Together as one of its pro- gram initiatives.
