Columbus girl's basketball finishes

season strong

Cardinals girl’s basketball looks to head back to the state tournament for the second con- secutive year and finished the regular season at 23-10 while winning their last three games in a row.

These wins came against Palacios, Randolph and Poth.

The Palacios game was in blowout fashion by a final score of 51-26.

Columbus is led by head coach Mike Albers, who certainly has a hall of fame resume and possesses players such as Karlee Mathis, Sage Thomas and Anaya Gardner.

Mathis is known for her shooting but can also drive to the rim, Thomas has a solid all-around game with senior leadership, and Gardner is athletic and is a scorer.

It looks like this team has caught fire at the right time and is hunting down back-to-back state tournament births.
