LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society (CHS) met on Feb. 5, in Hanslik Hall at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange for their soup social and installation of officers.
Members were asked about going on a tour to New Dubina to see a movie-set village museum with dated antiques with an 1856 log cabin. A sign up sheet was available.
Information was given about scholarships that include $500 for a high school senior from Fayette CHS and $500 from State CHS. Also, a $1,000 scholarship from State CHS for a high school senior or a first year college/vo cational school is available. All Fayette County counselors have the scholarship applications.
The summer State Queen Royalty Pageant will be held in Hallettsville on July 22. A newly formed Czech-Slovak Royalty includes Prince, Princess, Junior Queen, and Queen. Notify Betty Danner if interested in being in the pageant.
Door prizes were drawn followed by a light meal of soups, sandwiches and desserts.
