Many area athletes earned their stripes on the football field and have now planted their names on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association All-State football list.
The athletes in Class 2A include Zach Norrell (Weimar, honorable mention, defensive back), Weston Pavlik (Weimar, third team, center), and Kobe Burton (Flatonia, honorable mention, tackle).
In 3A, it’s Chris Carruthers (Columbus, first team, running back) Jayden Trapp (Columbus, second team, tackle), and Adam Schobel (Columbus, honorable mention, quarterback).
Rounding out the list in 4A is DJ Sanders (Bellville, first team, lineman), Conner Gaines (Bell- ville, first team, linebacker), DD Murray (Bellville, second team, running back), Sam Hranicky (Bellville, second team, running back), Cory Richardson (Bellville, second team, lineman), and Jakorey Lewis (Bellville, third team, guard).
Bellville’s Sanders also tied for defense player of the year in 4A.
