Faith Academy starts off track season

ANDERSON – The Faith Academy track team started their season Feb. 21st at the Anderson- Shiro Meet in Anderson.

ANDERSON — The Faith Academy track team started their season Feb. 21st at the Anderson- Shiro Meet in Anderson.

Six schools were in attendance including Snook, Centerville, Brazos Christian, Richards, Anderson - Shiro and Faith Academy.

In the men's varsity division, sophomore Ethan Stegent was second in the 3200 running an 11:23 and second in the 1600 running a 5:10.

Senior Noah Figueroa was fourth in the discus throwing at 113' 6'' and sixth in the shot put with a 39 ' 5 1/4'.

In the men's junior varsity division, junior Joshua Cardarelli was first in the 100 at 12.35, first in the 400 at 58.65, and first in the 200 at 25.93.

Jackson Dunn was first in the 110 hurdles at 17.52.

In the women's junior varsity division, junior Elizabeth Walk- er was first in the 100 hurdles at 20.0 and first in the 300 hurdles at 56.62.

Senior Noelle Walker was sec- ond in the 400 at 73.02 and first in the 200 at 32.60.

Junior Emma Duron was fourth in the shot put at 21' 9 1/2”, and freshman Scarlett Grace Dodd was first in the 3200.

The team will attend the La Grange Meet today, Thursday, Feb. 29, facing strong competition from some power house 3A and 4A public schools. They realize it will be competitive but they like the challenge because they understand it helps them improve their times and distances.
