SCHULENBURG — The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas is hosting its second annual Women Making History event from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at Schulenburg's historic Senglemann Hall in Schulenburg.

Inspired by Congress' 1987 designation of March as Women's History Month, at this year’s event, we will hear how women are making history in South Central Texas through the eyes of area high school students. Join us to hear about the women who have made a difference in these young people’s lives by demonstrating courage, determination, heritage, heroism, initiative, steadfastness or vision.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, volunteer led organization inspired by a vision of a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge, and the confidence to participate. As a chapter of one of the oldest and most respected grassroots organizations in the United States, our South Central Texas League works toward this vision in Colorado, Fayette, DeWitt, Gonzales, and Lavaca Counties by strengthening our community’s tradition of voting. By that we mean everyone votes whenever there’s an opportunityit’s what people do here! It’s a big part of how our community will grow even more vibrant and welcoming. Let’s make voting something our South Central Texas community is known for!

All are welcome to the League's Women Making History celebration. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lwvsouthcentraltx. org or at the door for $20 per person. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.

With 100 years of experience, the League of Women Voters is one of America's oldest and most trusted non-partisan civic organizations. with local Leagues that serve more than 800 communities across the United States. Formed from the movement that secured women's right to vote, the League's primary effort is still expanding civic participation and giving all Americans a voice through education and advocacy efforts.

The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas was formed in 2018 so that all voters in the South Central Texas area can benefit from the many ways Leagues work to empower voters and defend democracy.
