Flatonia Public Library receives $10K donation

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the Flatonia Public Library. On hand for the donation were, from left, LaVerne Dornak, library director; Glenda Mach, library board vice president; Carolyn West, library board member; Darlene Strahan, SCE assistant store director; Marlene Schnell, SCE assistant store director; and Gayle Schielack, SCE store director. Monies donated will be used to add new and large print books to the library, sponsor a summer reading program, purchase Apollo software and establish a new website. The library is a center for community learning that provides free access to information, resources, programs and technology.
