WARDA — Residents in the Warda area of Fayette County were briefly asked to evacuate their resi dences the evening of March 4.
According to Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller, a natural gas leak occurred around 7 p.m. in the area of Giese Lane in Warda. Fayette County Emergency Manage - ment Coordinator, Angela Hahn, along with Dawn Moore, 9-1-1 GIS & Addressing coordinator, EMS Director Josh Vandever, Winchester Fire Chief Eddie Schneider, and Fayette County Sheriff Keith Ko renek all worked together to apprise as many residents as possible of the hypothetical dangers.
Residents within about a half mile of the gas leak were asked to be on alert. Work crews from the gas company quickly responded to the scene and repairs on the gas leak were completed without incident.
