WEIMAR — Richard C. Whitten III, 59, was unanimously voted in as the new city manager of Weimar during a regularly scheduled city council meeting on March 4 in Weimar.
The position had remained vacant for months as the council worked to fill it with someone they felt could lead Weimar into the future.
Whitten served as fire chief for 14 years and emergency management coordinator for the Westlake Community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He has logged in over 41 years in the fire ser vice industry. H is credited with moving the department progressively under his leadership.
