Westside Narcotics Task Force strikes again

BROOKSHIRE – Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team executed arrest & search warrants on a residence located at the 4000 block of Second Street in Brookshire on March 6 at approximately 5 a.m.

BROOKSHIRE — Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team executed arrest & search warrants on a residence located at the 4000 block of Second Street in Brookshire on March 6 at approximately 5 a.m.

The operation resulted from an ongoing narcotics investigation by the Westside (HIDTA) Narcotics Task Force. Task Force Officers had been inves tigating reports of narcotics being distributed from the residence.

Defendants Jonte Grant, 47, and Andre Grant, 49, were arrested without incident.

Cocaine, firearms and Unit ed States Currency were seized from the residence during the operation. Manufacture and/or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 (Drug-Free Zone)

charges were filed on all defen dants. Additionally, defendant Andre Grant was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm.

The defendants were booked into the Waller County Jail in Brookshire without incident.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers four counties and is comprised of investigators from the Austin Coun- ty Sheriff's Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff's Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Colorado County Sheriff’s Of- fice, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Brookshire Police Department and the Waller Coun- ty Sheriff's Office assisted with the arrest/search warrant operation.
