Flatonia powerlifter Isaac Vasquez represented the area well at the most recent state pow- erlifting tournament in Abilene by finishing 10th in his weight class at 242 pounds.
The senior put a stamp on his career by squatting 550 pounds and benching 405 pounds for a total of 1.425 pounds overall. The Bulldogs are known for excelling in state powerlifting and this is another example of an athlete who's lifted at a very high level on the biggest stage.
Flatonia isn't going anywhere in this aspect and will more
than likely have other powerlift ers who make their mark in the near future as they've had lifters who have set records in previous years.
This is just another great ac- complishment for a school that has made a bunch of state tour naments in recent years and their powerlifting mojo won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
