Accomplished author to speak at Weimar Public Library

WEIMAR - Historical fiction writer Barbara Ortwein is here from Germany, and she certainly has some stories to tell!

This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Weimar Public Library.

Ortwein will present her Texas saga trilogy on Monday, April 8, at 11 a.m. German immigration to Texas by highlighting places and families you will recognize.

Ortwein combines stories of her fictional characters with real stories of actual people involved in the settlement of Texas.

Her fictional characters interact with historical people who were involved in the German settlements in Texas from 1844 to 1847.

In Ortwein's trilogy of books, she weaves a tale of those involved in the emigration and settlement of places you will know and recognize, including a description of Weimar when the first teacher arrives on a train to begin her life as a teacher.

Ortwein interacts with her audience takes time to answer questions at the end of her presentation.
