SCHULENBURG —The Alliance for College and Career Success 5K results held its first annual 5K race on April 6 in conjunction with the Schulenburg Sausage Festival.
It was a perfect day for a small-town run, with athletes traveling from as far as Austin or Round Rock or as near as a few blocks away from the start line. Chip timing was provided by Run Texas Timing Services.
Keegan Escamilla of Columbus was the fastest overall runner with a time of 18:59, and Judy Ashlynd was the fastest female, finishing the race in 25:05. Both received medals and gift baskets of ACCSS goodies and a $20 City Market gift card so they could buy some sausage.
