The Sealy High School softball team was defeated by Needville High School April 12 at Lady Tigers Field by a final score of 4-0.

Needville came up with some big hits throughout the game and Sealy wasn't able to respond. "We knew that pitcher's good," said Sealy head softball coach Brittney Whitehead. "She's a D1 commit and she has that off speed curve that we practice for, but it's hard to really plan for. I think our defense was much cleaner. We did have a rough third inning to where they scored those three runs, but we played a much better game. Charlee threw on the mound for us, she did an amazing job. Got us out of some tough situa tions with some big strikeouts, so I think we played a better game than we did there, but we still have work to do so we can win in the playoffs." Needville ended up scoring three runs in the top of the third inning on a few base hits, a walk, a sac bunt, and a bunt that was reached safely. Sealy pitcher Charlee Ramos didn't allow another run until the seventh inning when a base hit, infield hit, a walk, and a fielder's choice gave the Lady Jay's some insurance. A bunt and two strikeouts from Sealy decided the game in the final at bat for Needville to eventually win the game with a tally of 4-0.
