COLUMBUS — Jose Feliciano Casanova, of Eagle Lake, was sentenced to life in prison in the murder of Keaton Hancock, of Columbus, on Sept. 10, 2021, in Columbus.
Casanova was implicated in a driveby shooting death of Hancock in what was apparently a retaliatory strike stemming from a shooting that happened earlier in Eagle Lake.
Casanova underwent a jury trial, and on April 11, District Judge William D. Old, III, handed down the life in prison sentence. After 30 years, Casanova will be eligible for parole.
Two other co-defendants are waiting for their jury trials.
