SEALY—A beautiful spring day seems to have been ordered just for the Sealy Spring Fest on April 13 at the Sealy Historical Park. The lively event, sponsored by the Sealy Area Historical Society, offered music, dances, demonstrations, games, vendors and great food.
Music was a great addition to the gathering’s beautiful spring day. The Brown Sugar Band kept the crowd in a lively mood.
Throughout the day, there were demonstrations on beekeeping, raising chickens, horse care, gardening, quilting and winemaking.
The museum was always a trip back in Sealy’s time, and the art show and sale had a number of pieces to choose from.
Old-fashioned games were a blast from the past, such as the Hula Hoop contest and the Hoop and Stick Race.
It wouldn’t be spring if it didn’t have delicious food to go with it. The kitchen opened to a hungry bunch and the smoke kept smoking from the grill until closing.
It is always fun to tour the train caboose and the city jail of days gone by.
A special treat for the kids was an old-fashioned Victorian tea party, balloon twisting and face painting. Crowds gathered around as the Alabama Coushatta Indian Dancers showed their culture and pride in their historical dance routine.
The Spring Fest in Sealy just keeps getting bigger and better.
